Please register only artworks that y0u have seen with your own eyes or are very confident about.

All submissions are reviewed by a human before they are added to the Registry. We may contact you for further information or clarification.

To register artwork at a new site: From any map page, click the button marked "Add new site." You will be asked to provide an email address where we can contact you. Then you will see the first page of a two-part form. Here you will provide information about the site (institution name, address, etc.). On the next page (" 2. Provide artwork information") you will describe each of the artworks located at that site (name of work, name of artist, year created, etc.) Provide as much information as you can; a few fields are required. There is a final step ("3. Finish") where you can accompany your submission with a message to the Registry.

To register new artwork at an existing site: Navigate to the page about the site. Click the button marked "Modify this site." Choose item 2 at left, "Provide artwork information," and tell us as much as you know. To enter the name of the artist(s), you will have to click the "Add participant" button. If you can provide a photo (highly recommended), click the button marked "Add new photo" and follow the instructions.

To correct or add to information about a registered site: Navigate to the page about the site. Click the button marked "Modify this site." Make any changes to the site information and, if there are no changes to the artwork information, proceed to Step 3.

To correct or add to information about a registered artwork: Navigate to the page about the site or the page showing the artwork. Click the button marked "Modify this site." Choose item 2 at left, "Provide artwork information," and select the artwork you want to work on from the drop-down list at the top of the form. Make any changes to the artwork information and proceed to Step 3.

To add or replace a photograph: Follow the instructions above. On the "Provide artwork information" page, make sure the right artwork is selected. Click the button marked "Add new photo" and follow the instructions. You may crop the photo to an 800 x 800 pixel square before you submit it, or submit the raw photo and have us do the cropping for you.

To remove a site, artwork, or artist: If you discover that a reigstered site or artwork no longer exists, or is not really a New Deal creation, you can request that it be removed. Both the site and artwork forms have a "Remove" button. To remove an artist, click the red X at the right of the Participant table. If you request a removal of any kind, please use the message capability in Step 3 ("Finish") to explain why.
